Castrate them and remover tongue and nose , and thumbs ,, they wont be able to ride bikes but could still do useful work as public slaves ..

Thank You Ursa
Dear All - thanks for your messages with regards to the theft of my bike. Yesterday, eagle-eyed Ursa forwarded me a link to a monster on gumtree being broken and sold for bits (). From the pics it looks like (what's left of) my bike and is only a few miles away from where it was pinched.
I called the police yesterday and re-opened the case which they said they would look into. I'll give them a couple of days to go and 'have a word' and, if I get no joy, then I might be paying 'Lee' a visit myself. Regardless of whether it is mine or not - I would like to thank URSA for being so vigilant and remembering my plight - it really embodies what UKMOC is all about and it is through communities like this that make it hard for scumbags to get away with nicking our precious rides. Thanks Ursa - well spotted! Update to follow! |

Photo in Ursa's link had no clip-ons but then a sharp operator would use a photo of a different bike

Get a mate, go and see Lee and ask to take some pics so you can "check compatibility". If it's yours give the police a ring and see if you can arrange to "pick up the parts" and see if they will send someone down.

No worries, I'd be heartbroken if it happened to Edna. I was on Gumtree shopping for a sideboard, got bored, looked at Monsters and something about that one looked fishy, and I remembered a Dark being nicked from a London UKMOC member.
I spoke to a motorbike journo mate of mine last night, he's doing a big piece on bike theft for MCN and has been in contact with the specialist guy at the Met, he's said he can get me his email address for you if you get nowhere. On a positive note, roller derby skater friends of mine on two separate occasions have had their skates stolen, and they've turned up on Gumtree (custom derby skates with magnesium plates and top end bearings and wheels can hit around £7-800), on both occasions the police have gone to the sellers, nicked them, seized the gear and returned it. Good luck, I hope you get some positive news. |
