Out of interest, where did you buy the bike from?
I’ve never seen it around locally.

The tls was not standard; r1 shock, busa forks and brakes etc. Appreciate your thoughts and will fiddle with the rose joint if I can find out how. The shock looks in good condition but not really sure mechanically.
The bike has done so little miles over its 4 year rebuild I’m not surprised you’ve not seen it; owner was round the corner from me in Worthing. |

Hi Bilbo, welcome.
Lovely looking bike there! I went down a tooth on my 750 and found it went through the gears too quickly for me and I felt it changed the character of the bike quite a bit. On my to do list is to take Flip’s advice and raid the suspension hoop. |

I didn't have too much trouble undoing the rose joint bolts but as already mentioned you do need to take the load off to find the 'sweet spot' to get them out.
My preferred method is to suspend the rear of the bike using straps from a step ladder positioned over the frame- the front is supported in the usual way with a paddock stand meaning it remains perfectly stable while you work on the bike. I originally had the joints extended by 32mm but after fitting a pair of Michelin Pilot Road 3's they slowed the steering so much it felt horrible and so I moved them out another 6 to 38mm to speed it back up. Again, as mentioned you can simply fit a pair of Louigi Moto's extenders but in doing so with Rich's latest batch you will need to cut the threaded part of the rose joint down so it fits all the way in and then you are limited to a set extension. They do look very neat though:

Oh one thing I noticed from your photos is the routing of the rear brake line looks a little odd where it seems to twist through the caliper?
It may just be the angle or something but worth checking as it should look something like this:

I'll take a look at that routing and post a pic to show how he did it.

Yes maybe, or perhaps the banjo rotated when it was tightened up and he didn't notice?
Either way, it's a good excuse to fit some nice new (correctly routed) braided hoses
