Thanks mate, just hoping that the V-twin vibes will be less on my hands on a longer ride than on the inline 4 of my S1000R! Couldn't get much more than an hour at a time on the Monster on the weekend, although I did test ride one after another at local dealers which are a half hour apart. It defintely felt like it had a lot less vibes at lower rpms when it was just chugging along, with only a little more when climbing the revs. As the bike has all that down torque I'm guessing a lot of short shifing when blasting about should keep the vibes down.

Thought the sound and general feel of the bike was great as well, definitely has character as they say.

have you tried GRIP PUPPIES or something similar ,, I use them and the help vibes a lot

Grip puppies work well. The engine will get smoother after a few thousand miles too.

I think the main source of vibration on a ducati is the chain.

If I keep mine well lubed and perfectly adjusted, it's smooth as beaver fur.

I find it's sweetest for me, adjusted with about a millimeter less slack than the reccomended (30mm on an M series)

Most definately no tighter than that.!

Yea, there should be little to no vibration from the engine itself. What low frequency vibes you will feel at low rpm will smooth out and get less as the revs rise and should not be of the numbing finger kind anyway, at least when its run in. Its the power pulses that you feel at low rpm but once you get it spinning up they cancel each other out so little to no vibrations besides that from the drivetrain (clutch/chain and even the road surface etc) as Gary says. But if you fit Termis there will be secondary vibration from the exhaust pulses which shake the very ground and surrounding buildings but that's Ducati music and another thing altogether!

I'm about to fire up my S4 so the old bird next door will no doubt be complaining about the china in her cabinets rattlling again!

I dont have a problem with vibes on any of my bikes its impacts from the front suspension on my wrists ,, does not matter what stae of tune the forks are in soft or hard i suffer ...
