Hi Lisa and welcome to the forum.
Definitely as your confidence grows you'll find it less of a problem.
Couple of tips, make sure you're using your back brake when you're coming to a stop rather than the front, it'll means the bike is less likely to bounce around when you do stop and makes it a little easier for you to put your foot down firmly.
Worth sliding a butt cheek slightly off the seat as you come to a stop, left one, so that you can get more of your foot on the floor. I have to do this on my Multistrada to get a secure flat foot.
Also you can search on the forum and on line for boots that have a thick sole, might help just having an extra bit of height.
And finally, make sure you don't park or stop on a slope or camber going away from you.

I am not confident on tip toes..
You need to feel safe to gain confidence.
I know as suffer from total lack of it still.

Take your bike to MCT at Stowmarket ring first and speak to them and explain your dilema .
Several ladies on here have used them to lower bikes.
Say the girl with the glittery monster sent you

and watch him cry!
What they can't do with suspension well not many others could.

I am just about to send them another shock to be shortened.
They do a real proper job.

Is your bike under warrenty with Seastars? Just wondered as don't want to advise you to do something that would effect warrenty.

Even so Speak to MCT they may be able to tweek it a bit more.
I also changed tire profile and make and that has helped as well.
He is full of great ideas and now I have a bike I can get most of my foot down on the floor with!

Thanks guys,

Some really useful info there. My bike is brand new so has the 24 month warranty, so don't really want to lose that by changing out original parts. Hopefully after 2 years i'll have a bit more confidence !!

Well worth bearing in mind though, even if they just have a look at her and see what they think.

J.P. thanks for the advice with regards to using the back brake, i'll give it a go and see how i get on. Only been riding a month so absolutely everything is new to me. Now getting a little more comfortable with moving about on the seat, so again will try the butt cheek tip.

Lots to think about and play around with, cheers folks

Also Minxy, well worth finding your local I.A.M group. Was very helpful to me when I started 5 years ago and there's a whole day of practicing slow bike control involved which is really good for technique. About £150 for training and exam plus £10 per practice ride with an observer.

Hi Lisa, Im tip toe as well but your confidence will grow. As they say just watch out for hills and chambers. Hope you enjoy your bike.

Just what i wanted to hear .... cos i'm waiting for mine to arrive

I did a bit of reasearch and found that they had a built up instep, which seemed the answer to my prayers. I'm glad they are comfy too. Can't wait for them to arrive.
