Also just seen the post about loose battery. That’s something that I’ve had that was intermittent. Engine just stopped after hitting a bump in a country road, turned the ignition off and all was fine until some weeks later when on the same road hit the same bump and again the engine stopped! So a mate suggested a loose battery connection, lifted the tank and there it was. First glance it looked fine until I put a spanner on it and tightened it up. Been fine ever since

I did consider the plugs but on re starting the fault was not likely to have cleared?

I think you may have found the culprit, Omar. That relay has definitely come adrift as it should live on the right side of the battery box (the relay is no. 15 on the first diagram and the battery box is no. 6 on the second).

I had a starting problem caused by the relay working itself loose from its housing. When you return it to its proper position, I suggest you also loop a cable tie over the relay so it can't pop out during normal running.

The relay was securely fastened and nothing else found, a subsequent ride of 100 miles showed no faults. It is a worry, but hay ho

Thanks for the comments all, appreciated.
