I think carbon cans tend to have a sharper sound to them, metal ones are usually a little richer/deeper in tone, maybe it's just me.

Hey Popelli, manufacturers like Akrapovic claim ‘the max. increased power of 5.38 HP was measured at 4400 rpm’. It probably was under laboratory conditions, but they are here to sell. I guess there is no guarantee until you do your own testing, but 7.5% is not a bad improvement if it’s true.

Steve1100, You are right the SC Project cans are pretty reasonable and it would be good to get some feedback from anyone who has them fitted. Watch the right foot peg vibrate with increased revs, looks like it wants to get away from the noise!

Round ones hey I'm a girl - tsk -got them second hand off the forum - then just got the bike tuned up to run without baffles and standard filter etc - should be a nice selection to take a look/listen to at Ducati Aylesbury if you come along in a fortnight - if you can leave the decision till then

i think bex's exhaust is made by QuatD and i agree with Char they are the nicest looking exhaust for the new shape monsters i have seen yet

you wont go wring with arrows or Zards either,
Termis are great and have lots of cahce, but tbh the build quaility is hit and mis on many if the items i have seen (not sure about new shape monsters tbh)

difference in sound is subjective and will depend on the bike (other peoples exhuasts always sound better than mine when im following them on a ride out funnily enough)

i have had carbon and Titatinium arrows on the s2r800 and i cant tell the deffernce, both are bastard loud and will rattle windows and set car alarms off on decelaration (the titanuium cans will take baffles though)

the Carbon Zards i have heard on an 800 sound a bit bassier than the arrows or termis

i have steel Mivvs on the 1000 and even with the cat still in they are very loud and a not as bass heavy little raspeir that the arrows on the 800

so ulimately it comes down to looks and build quality and price
id rank them like this for build (but again this might be different for diff bikes)

If its any help, the research i have done points towards the arrows. There is a direct comparison on the net somewhere between the termi and arrow system. It shows the internal welds and you can see the particular termi set was bodged on the inner seems,which may tie in with what funk is saying. The arrow was immaculate. It could well have been a one off poor production that was shown for the termi, who knows but its food for thought. The arrow is bloody expensive, but im just around the corner from taking the plunge as i need new cans. The quatd system also looks good in the shotgun style but not sure its a match for the arrows on raw rumble !! Anyone got the double sided shotgun quatd ?

i have the shotgun Mivv X Cone on the S2R 1000 and i think they are the best looking exhaust for this bike even covered in mud :-)

i havent removed the cat yet but thats going v soon

the arrows stuff is really top notch, the zrd is good too but i have seen 2 sets now with the end caps coming away from the carbon

i think those prices are just for for the slip on system, i think Bex's 796 has the magnum conical full system that has an the exhuast pipe going under the engine like older monsters and it looks killer

can find a photo at the mo, but im sure she will be along to show off her pride and Joy soon :-)

I am going through the same problem, what exhaust for the 1000. The M600 i brought a damaged pair of termis brought new carbon sleeves and packing (although not much packing was used) and hey presto like new, i didnt put the termi stickers back on liked them better without.

I thought i ahd decided on a full Arrows system but every time i go to hit the buy button termi springs back into my mind and i hesitate. I agree with Funkatronic about the build aspect of termi thats whats pushed me more towards Arrows. The fact is the 1000 is far to quiet.

Ignoring the price am I the only one that like the akrapovic set (albeit in full carbon)?
