Is the S version worth the extra dough over the standard 1100?

They are not necessarily dearer just rarer beasts. Much better forks as you would expect and they also look nice. All 1100 engines are the same bar the EVO having 5hp alleged more but softer suspension. All of the 1100 need to be set up to your needs but its your choice of look.
Overall the EVO is the better bike in design and tweaked asthetics and lighter wet clutch and ABS if that floats your boat.
I would have been happy with either.

In my eyes yes, the Ohlins suspension is sublime but I have not ridden a M1100 or Evo so think others may give better advice.
Think you need to decide what roads your going to mainly ride on, best solution to get test ride(s).
Maybe worth posting link to bike your interested in, good chance someone on here may know of it, alternatively have a browse through forum for sale section.
