I think they started looking generically like other makes from the mark 3. Trellis on those is more of a styling cue than an integral part. It's still a great bike and a Ducati, it's just not got the visual usp of the early models. Don't expect the latest to either but as long as it's a good bike....

One bit I do not get they say trellis has to go due to power increases of engine and to drop weight. The v4 engine in multi is less powerful then 1198R well tuned. Let alone 1198R with race bits.
The only reason they are dropping trellis is production efficiency as now engine and bolt on front part of frame will always be same

Here is the Diavel Lamborghini. I like the design of the wheels.

WSBK uses trellis frame, OK it is from Pierobon but that's not the point, this is Audi meddling in stuff they do not understand, maybe production is easier however the end result may as well be a shopping cart

I hadn't noticed ...
the last 'trellis' SBK was the 1198, that was some time ago! I'll start a new thread for information I've picked up this afternoon http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/s...ad.php?t=58869 Last edited by slob; 27-11-2020 at 05:35 PM.. Reason: link added |
