The clutch fluid in the reservoir of my M900ie is also black - partly due to the black rubber sealer in the top of the reservoir which protrudes deep into the 'pot'.
Possibly another cause could be worn piston seals on the master cylinder. Have bled my system several times but to no avail - clutch works fine though. |

My S4R did this and I just ignored it. Changed the fluid in the brakes and clutch on the M1000 yesterday and the fluid was very dark. We'll see how it lasts. I wouldn't worry too much about it until you start loosing fluid.

First sign of the expensive carbonitis
- there are huggers, front fenders, air scoops and of course bellypans! (Lets pretend Carbon Tanks don't exist as that is an extreme form of the ailment) |

I have a Ducati Performance carbon cowl on my bike.
It came to me second (third ?) hand. I mention it because the resin had begun to dull and yellow, which may be a long term issue with yours and some other Ducati Performance carbon items. The solution is U-Pol no.1, uv-resistant clear lacquer. and a rub down with fine wet 'n dry, followed by cutting compound. Mine now looks like new......well, better probably. Might be worth treating yours before it fades. I may do the same on all my future carbon. |

Well, seems it's stopped leaking oil, time to move on with the refresh!
NEW PART! These seem to be on sale on eBay at the moment so I snapped one up! Hopefully it'll help with the heavy clutch around town syndrome these bikes seem to suffer from.... I've also bought a new HEL clutch hose (carbolook with black fittings of course!) One question, when I fit this do I need to use the spacer for the pushrod? Joe |
