All good suggestions. Termis are good but a bit of a status symbol really but generally they do look and sound more right for the bike than some cheaper aftermarket options and the quality is usually pretty good. If buying a s/hand bike I would always sway towards a bike with them fitted but it makes no financial sense to pay for them in the first place as it adds little to the overall re-sale value.

Mine came with a full Termi system fitted straight from the factory, (£1400 as an add on for the standard bike back in 2002, ouch) but I didn't get the standard quiet end cans and have little chance of finding some now as the bike is so rare, so I and my neighbours have to endure the full sonic symphony.

Does sounds good though.

Darren, just so happens I've got a set of standard S4 unused cans in the garage, the challenge race bikes were fitted with Termi's from day 1 and mine came with the originals as well as the original ECU to go with it.

The Fogarty S4 ones are different; 50mm hi-level and shorter than the standard ones. I think the bikes originally came with a baffled set in aluminium and the carbon open ones.

I'm sure there were some pictures on the net somewhere but all I can find are the carbon ones.

Yeah had a look at them, hadn't heard of Spark until I got the monster but they make some good looking exhausts! Got my eye on the SC Project CR-T https://www.scproject-shop.com/ducat...1200_crt_e.htm at the moment

SC and Spark will probably be the cheapest options. SC looks ok apart from the huge sticker, easily removed I suppose? Have a look on ebay too.

The CR-T is stupidly loud, way more than the Termis....

Yeah like what pedro said. That’ll be looooooud. Personally I’d go for something with a baffle and a little bit longer (not stubbys and motogp cans).

Just so you can take the edge off from time to time.

Of course I’m on an 1100evo so different to the 1200s. And mine is basically straight through, but even with the baffle in it is loud. Without being insane. The guys i ride with aren’t shy with loud cans and even they uttered the word “obscene” from time to time when I remove the baffle.

Also check out remus, first time I’d bought one but hand made in Austria and very very well made.

Am I right in saying the cat will still be in place with the CR-T exhaust? I was trying to convince myself it wouldn't be too loud if the cat was still in place but wishful thinking by the sounds of it

Remus is nice as well, and as mentioned has the option of removing the baffle

I fitted a Werkes slip on exhaust to my previous monster, a 1200.
I think the expression Me Gaza's used for the sound, was like following one of the horsemen of the apocalypse!
Stinger, Mike and myself all have 1200's, the sound of the three bikes on the throttle, all fitted with open pipes is gloriously loud!!!
