Aaah the age old confusion over Great Britain, British Isles and United Kingdom. Even the EU cant get to grips with it so what chance anyone else?

Now we get Guinness direct from St James' Gate, Dublin instead of the awful London stuff then we may indeed be united over a common pint.

It don't matter that there's a bit of a puddle between us and Ireland I'm sure you'll still get a warm welcome from everybody in this club.

Ebay has some good Ducati specialist dealers which are worth checking out. Have a look what superlight3 has for sale if you want general spares, Lee is a top guy. Also worth a look on ebay is dukedemon

But a few small points, I feel it is germaine to point out that I do not live in:

1.Eire - although this was foisted into our constitution by a British government civil servant, we dont like it. NOT AT ALL!
If it's to be a version in Gaelige (Irish) the Eireann is the accepted version.
If it is to be in an English version the Republic of Ireland is OK, as is ROI, but we actually live in Ireland.....and most certainly not:

(2) SOUTHERN Ireland. Southern Ireland is Cork and Waterford.

Ireland....simple and straight forward. ROI and Republic of Ireland is OK too.

I'm hoping that the pseudo ignorance that says that Ireland is in the UK is a joke, albeit a poor one?

References to the "black stuff"...despite the fact that most British people seemed to be obsessed with the fact that we spend all our time in pubs with bodhrans and tin whistles supping Guiness and playing diddley diddley music, it's slightly wide of the mark. We have electricity, we don't all drink constantly, and some of us including myself dont drink at all, after coming from a large family with a violent drinking father the "black stuff" means nothing to me, but whatever floats your curragh (look it up )

I'm quite mercenary and would like to use the forum for purely mercenary purposes...DUCATI stuff.

Leading onto thanks for the suggestions for parts and stuff. I have dealt with Spareshack when I lived in Hounslow and found them average to unhelpful. The guy there seemed to be more worried about selling me stuff he didnt want rather than stuff I did want. While in London strangely enough my best experience was dealing with Ducati Glasgow, who seemed helpful and friendly....Celts you see I've also been told by a few others that Superlight on Ebay is quite good, but I'm also interested in highly qualified and experienced technicians who use knowledge and expertise to squeeze more from their bikes without spending large wedges of Euros...(ooops sorry shillings and tanners you use dont you?) I've noticed that theres a lot of people on here proffering advice that seems to have no more basis than being hearsay or anecdotal, so maybe someone can point out the highly qualified forum posters, if there are any?


Now....how're ya doin fella from Derry? Eyre Square ya say? ground zero? when was that and to what are you referring, is it the Bi-Trillenium fountain works you saw or something? The Square is usually being messed around with on some side or other be it paving or landscaping or general buggering round with the surrounding roads and filters, to me its got worse with all the hard landscaping, I'd sooner have seen more shrubbery and botanicals there, we are a green and pleasant land after all, but maybe we have too much fascination with concrete. I have mixed feeling in general about how Galway has been regenerated, in particular the docks area, but thats a a different story. To me as a youth Eyre Sq. was always the place myself and my girlfriend would head after the church disco, to find her waster of a brother whod be unconscoius by the toilet block and we'd swipe his fags. Apart from that, like most locals Eyre Sq is something that you need to get round in order to travel from one corner to the other.

My missus is a Dub and one of my many sister-in-laws moved out from Dublin to Co. Roscommon a few years ago. She lives fairly close to the border with Galway so we usually take a trip to your neck of the woods and down to the Cliffs of Moher when we're over.

There was talk here a year or two back about the possibility of a UKMOC tour of Ireland. How big's your house?

Skerries Road Race is a brilliant craic, I've a mate who lives in Skerries and have been there for a couple of them. A nice part of Co. Dublin too.

Strangely enough, your description of how we may see Ireland is remarkably similar to how Norfolk actually is.

i have absolutely no knowledge of the technical aspects of motorbikes whatsoever.

I will not try to sell you motorbike parts that you dont want, in fact i will go as far as to say that even if you wanted to buy parts off me i will reply with a simple no, possibly followed by a go away.

So, to summarise, i can offer nothing of any use or value either by way of info or kit, i am unreliable on the occasion that i do post technical replies, am prone to headaches and have a nervous, high pitched laugh and suffer with sleep apnoea. I drink too much, have an extremely dangerous road sense and am a hazard on a rideout.

Apart from that, i play the banjo and spoons and have never touched craic in my life.

well, my cousins all live in skerries, so i think we all have a gd excuse to meet up and have a bit of a guinness drinking wkend...im afraid i must leave now and get on a plane to rio (sun sun sun!!!)......

I think it's been firmly established and publicised in my recent confessional posts that I know nothing about bikes and your lesson about ROI highlights to me I know insufficient about geography and history.

I am not related to anyone Irish, nor can I play the spoons but do like guinness. I am also little use to you then but just wanted to say hi and if you like banter and general rubbish, just follow my posts

ground zero -- i think it's in new york - created on 11 sept 2001 (joke - before i get banned)

passed eyre square a few years ago. it was boarded off with a lot of construction equipment working away inside.

All I saw on your name was that you were over the water in a westerly direction and not as far as america.

p.d. thinking about it - you could have actually solved the whole n.i. problem. a united ireland within the u.k. !!! who could have a problem with that?? the forum of course would be renamed uk(incl. united ireland)oc.
