The cabalero name used to be associated with rather svelte competition bikes, that one is a bit lardy and probably bog at the first sign of anything mud like. The 80's featured the best of these, full chat 2T's, the only way to ride them was throttle at the stop and a great gollop of balls.
That new one is a bit like a half bastard sword compared to a rapier, both pointy at the end but ..... LOL OK I like Monsters but love a good competition motor 2T The old RC 125 was a very sweet tool

The Herald is a good looking bike, I do like the open look around the rear wheel, admittedly my 12r has a similar look.
Running around tight back roads or a urban environment would probably be where it's best at home.

I do like the Vitpilen and it's not badly priced too. I like the CCM Spitfire a bit more but not 6K more, that's too much for a bike like that. The beast would seem to be a good budget option but I think I would be swayed by the Vitpilen's better spec for a bit more $

None of the above would ever be considered as swaps for my Monster though. If I ever wanted a lighter and less powerful bike I would be looking for a 750 or 900 Monster ie without a shadow of doubt.

The R's have an edge on handling but a negative on servicing, both handle amazingly well and are even comfy!!, think magic carpet with scarey fast corner entry speeds if you stop to think about it
![]() Then if you have to think about it then you really should get a C50 or something more sedate Yellow, is of course, the only real colour for them.

I haven't found anything thats significantly lighter, with sufficient umph, thats pretty enough or within my budget yet. The closest was a Bimota 500 injected 2T, but I know the bank manager would laugh at me!
