The master bodies are usually stamped, the last two digits being the piston size. (or rather the bore size, the piston is much smaller.)

On top of the Goldlines.

how to flick a penny

Sometimes on the top of the coffins.

Sometimes on the bottom.

Adjustable span levers are available for coffins.

But you can't interchange coffin and Goldline levers as the pivots and switch actuation are different.
Watch out for the little loose switch actuating pin on the coffins, which will fall out when you remove the lever and then disappear. These are available as a spare part for about 65p I think, from Moto Rapido, but they won't post just that small part on it's own, as it's below their threshold value for posting.

Very smart stainless pressed nuts for the pivot pins are available if you know the right people...

I use the later type (radial) masters but with integral reservoirs, mainly due to fitting four pad calipers (aka999 749). Very easy to bleed through the reservoir, often without having bother with the caliper nipples. I feel that the braking is superior to the old gold line coffin master set-up. Remote reservoirs look to me like Meccano technology, just how it seems to me. Bitza
