Maybe my reasons for not wanting to help MCN are best kept to myself. (I don't agree that they are petty views, by the way.)

I would, on the other hand, not think twice about helping Rob out, especially considering the time and effort he puts in himself.

Rob, I realise how cross you are about all this, and I think I understand how you feel, having been heavily involved in quite a few clubs over the years, some at international level.

I think it would have been better if I had not made any comment at all. It was a misplaced attempt at some consolation.

Just trying to say that from where i am standing I think your efforts are generaly well supported by an enthusiastic and active club....and APPRECIATED.

I think this particular issue would enjoy a much better response if it were any other publication or little known TV production company (for instance).

Like Black Bob I had probably better keep the reasons for the massive grudge I have had against mcn since 1990, to myself. Suffice to say that I managed to keep it out of the courts by speaking sweetly to some significant luminaries of the motorcycle world.

....Water under the bridge..but I still don't want my cheesey boat race in thier pages.

Hey Guys. Rob needs some help here. A paragraph and a snapshoot is all he asks, it would make all the difference.

Peace to all men...

Thanks Rally, some utterly fantastic roads up there (if you manage to get off the Motorways on a day trip).

I don't have a problem with MCN.
Managements come and go, and I can't comment on the recent lot, but as a motorcycling icon its been part of my life since the early 70s, give or take a few years.
Perhaps its a bit tabloid these days, but the public gets what the public wants.

I rarely buy it these days though, as I have little interest in other bikes since I bought my monster.
You can quote me on that if you like, Rob.

I was slow in responding because, quite honestly, I find it nearly impossible to sum up my feelings for my monster in anything less than a decent length article or small booklet.
A single (meaningful) sentence or two simply does not do it justice.
Paradoxically, the bikes simplicity is one of its central features, but this comes from a divine synergy of design and is by no means simplistic.

I did eventually realise that I'd written something reasonably succinct on a previous thread, so submitted that with some editing.

I guess the song was too lengthy, but my favourite lines are....
"Her heart beats deep and soulful boys, it makes mine skip a beat.
I'm gonna take her out tonight and do it in the street." .....(repeat to fade )

Its funny that a positive thread always attracts the negative vultures just because they have something they have an issue with. Its the way of the world I guess.

Actually it didn't. The MCN thing was offered as perhaps the reason that 'some' people were not contributing. That was taken the wrong way then those views of MCN were described as 'petty' to which others took offence. I'm not sure describing those people as 'negative vultures' will win any 2014 Nobel peace prizes mate but good on you for trying
