How hard is it to take moulds off fairing panels and lay up some carbon fibre?
Fuel tank would be a challenge though as Elefant tanks swell with ethanol fuel too! Some inspiation: http://www.cagivaelefant.it/

Alan (don’t know his last name, married to Norah) from DOCGB has done the multi-elefant conversion, among many others… 900SS/TT2 replica, Bimota Mantra based ultra-legera cafe racer and a super tidy sport classic. He’s got some serious skills. They ride all over, I’ve run into them at WDW, Assen and numerous UK events.

Well its stripped of all the parts that that I will be selling on... and I have cut the rear of the frame off so there is no going back now!
As an aside, I used some cutting discs a mate gave me... its the first time I have had a disc shatter on me... so glad I had a full grinding mask on me! They went straight in the bin! |

another aside....
A few weeks ago I was dragged to the garden centre to look at water features for the garden… £238!!! So I decided the money was better spent on my bikes and set about making one… using some copper sheet recovered from our old emersion heater tank I plannished some copper leaves… then cut some copper brake pipe into lengths, and soldered 7 into some 13mm copper tube. All then soldered together. Using a cheap solar water pump off Ebay for £12 I set it up in the tub and adjusted the leaves so they dribble the water down. It makes a pleasing sound, although I do find it encourages frequent urination! Main thing is my wife loves it… Happy Wife, Happy life as they say! |

Blimey .. glad to hear you got away unscathed from the shattered cutting disc.
The possible nasty outcomes don't bear thinking about. |
