Thanks - thought he was making spaghetti headers for the Monster after the SS ones but yours look like stainless steel with flowed X piece - why did you go with this type?

That's what he was making so I bought one. They are a nice bit of kit.

Every time I go there I end up buying some bit of trick kit.

I've got one of madasl's exhausts on my Monster.

I've not revisited the dyno since fitting it but it certainly feels, looks and sounds better than the original, even the modified original (X piece gutted and enlarged to remove restriction) that I had - for a start it's 5mm bigger bore.

It always felt like the 40mm exhaust was strangling mine...

Wasn't a criticism as I like new shiny things

I've got the same magpie type problem with bits and why I haven't been into Ducati Nottingham even though I technically live on the same road

It has been a while since I have fettled the project Monster. MADASL moved to Wales and took my bikes with him, so today I finally went over to work on one of them.

The rear brake hose was replaced with a stealth braided version.

I finally fitted the radiator, without the fan. Once the work was done it was back into the conservatory as a talking piece.

Just the final electrics, fluids and some other bits to finish it off. It might be done for next year!!

Got a custom expansion tank to fit to the back of the radiator between the fins:

Next weekend I will be off to Wales again and putting some more bits on the monster. MADASL had a remote suspension cylinder mount made to my spec and another is coming to mount the external fuel pump:

The 888 rear shock is off to get totally rebuilt and I wedged an SS shock in its place.

The rear 888 shock was looking shabby so it was off for a total rebuild:

After 27 years it was time for a refresh:

Cool

The next phase was to sort out the fuel tank for my final (and I do mean final) change.

I really liked the custom graphics that I had on my Super Sport so I decided they would look good on the Monster as well. This time they had to be even more bespoke so off the tank was sent to a sign writer and pinstriper for his custom twist.

Here are the first pictures I have seen of the finished tank:

This one is slightly different as there are small skulls hidden in the design.

Only one more build to complete after this. The next one will be black framed, black wheels and pearlescent white body work and candy apple red based accents.
