Ha! You've been paying attention. Yes they did actually, and very easily. What I couldn't see at the time through all the crud was that they screwed into the lock body, which is plastic

Usually on general external parts subject to weather. But not necessarily on technical assemblies where different lubricants may be called for or locking fluids are required.

Fuel System
This bike (an M900) was manufactured in Nov 1994 (so a 95 model),if I look at the Stein-Dinse Exploded views for 93 or 94 they show nothing between the filter and the pump. If I look at the 98 then I see a low pressure Petcock 58840142B. I dont see what I have on mine: this manual fuel valve with an October 1994 manufactured date and matching fixing tab on the frame. Although I do see something similar on the M600, although the fixing arrangement looks different. What's the story experts? Another example of Ducati parts bin assembly?... And I know I need rid of the jubilee clips

How does it differ from the ‘94 M600 parts catalogue? I would have expected those to be the same.

I'm pretty sure that "M900nster" has got the same arrangement of petrol tap and frame bracket as yours on his M900. Not sure of the year of his, I know it's early, probably '94/95
I can get in touch if you like and ask him, but I don't think there's anything odd about yours.

Just bought a Yuasa YB16AL-A2 from Halfrauds for a tenner. Been reading about the offer on my Laverda forum. Old stock and hit and miss as to whether theyre any good, but for a tenner.....
https://www.halfords.com/motoring/mo...ry-759872.html You need to fool their ridiculous webpage by saying its for a HONDA Z 0.6;599cc SOHC Spd MANUAL PETROL SALOON 1995/1996 (N) ...I found by trial and error

Regarding date they fitted to Ducati ss models at least 1993 models Its correct fitting for year. I nearly fitted one to mine as I never had correct petcock under tank as it got replaced sometime . Actually did fit one but sold it on and fabricated a bracket where the fuel filter now sits. I found a brand new one and got lucky on a secondhand filter rubber cup.

Choke controls are another item that changed between ‘93-‘94 bikes and ‘95 and ‘98. Do you have a pull out choke knob on the LHS of the frame, a pull-up knob centred on the steering head, or a slide control on the handlear?
The pull-up knob through the steering axis doesn’t appear on the M900 parts on Stein Dinse, but is on the ‘94 M600 one.
