I was hoping of travelling light. I don't want to have to take panniers.
Also... is anyone up for a rendezvous on route to Folkstone? |

We've been through this topic before on a number of posts.
Legally you will need to bring: - V5 - Insurance cert (with European cover) - MOT certificate (not compulsory but a good idea) - If you're daylight riding then most Gendarmes are not bothered about headlight adjustment - but stick a roll of the sticky black stuff in your pocket just in case & apologise for “forgetting”. - You MUST ride with your main beam dip headlight on ALL the time in France – not just the sidelights. - Your number plate "should" have a GB sticker/badge on it - again not overly enforced so I wouldn’t worry too much if it hasn't. - Yellow/fluorescent jacket IS NOT (repeat NOT) required under French law but as I've said previously if the lead and tail riders have them on then you represent a more organised ride than just a bunch of Brit hooligans out for a thrash. - Have a least 100 euros in your pocket (just in case you manage to get stopped by the men in blue) - UK credit cards with the chip and pin system “should” work in the automatic petrol pump machines and are usually situated next door to the hyper and super markets. - I always carry a cloth to clean the bugs off the visor (and bodywork pre photo session). - Looking at the weather forecast for over here I would also suggest a brolley. Send me a postcard

Humbucker & Shuffy,
I prefer not to use the Plod waiting area, just in case they turn up. Has been known. So go round the roundabout at take the exit to Swanley itself, just there's an entrace to an industrial lot and I'll be there at 7.15/7.30am. It's still a good 45 mins/1 hour run down from there still. For others, we'll find a space in the car park at Eurotunnel and see you there. Remember you've got to have checked in by 8.50 am LATEST.
