Hi Cobra88,
first of all: what a gorgeous bike that you had the patience to put together. Or should I say: the passion to put together? I am thinking of building from scratch a 1100evo project with Oehlins suspension front and rear. You have very nicely detailed some of the important steps to do so. Thank you very much for that! I was wondering, the 1100evo comes with ABS as default. However, most 1100s models that I have seen do not have ABS (if I remember correctly on the the last year - 2010? would have had ABS). Hence, my question: did your Oehlins fork come with ABS mounts? Where does the sensor go? Or did you get rid of ABS altogether? I know that this sounds a bit like nit-picking, but in my experience it is these small details that can cost me months and a lot of (unnecessary) cash. Have a good ride - and safe! Mike |

Hi Mike
I kept the ABS as it works great and even after 34 years riding it can stop shorter than I can first time in an emergency . All M1100 evo have ABS. the ABS will fit fine as it's all mounted on a sub assembly that fits between the mudguard and forks. Good luck finding a set of Ohlins S forks as it took me 2 years to find a set (eBay.de) your only problem will be finding 848 brake discs as the Ohlins forks have the calipers spaced 10mm further apart. I ended up fitting 330 mm 1098/1199 Discs as they are far more common on eBay. Last edited by Cobra88; 25-08-2014 at 11:24 AM.. |

Thank you Cobra!
I will see what I can find. Wow! It took you 2 years to find a set of Ohlins forks! I can imagine that it is most risky to find a set that is not damaged - hence, not bent or scratched. I know from a friend, that there are people who had accidents and then try to sell as much of their bikes as possible - even damaged parts. Have a safe ride! |

Hi Mike
The biggest problem finding the Forks is they are sought after mod for the Sport Classic Ducati so they go for £2000 plus and straight to the USA. they are pretty rare for that reason I think |
