tire pressures
I put 31 in front of S4 and 36 in rear I know the old owners book says 31 rear but i think its out of date ,
My Z900 has 32 front and 38 rear Kawasaki reccommend 32-34 front and up to 42 rear ,, seems excessive to me especially in a hot climate like Thailand On M750 and 750ss in Uk its 31 front and 36 back whats do you guys do ??

2004 Monster 1000Sie - 35 rear, 33 front - running on Avons whose website says use the pressures in the manufacturer's handbook.
2002 Monster 7501e Dark - 36 front, 42 rear - running on Bridgestones whose website quotes 36/42 (in practice I usually run the rear at 40). Previously, I ran Michelins and used their website pressures which were per the handbook

Not sure what the question is here Jerry if it's tyre brand soecific but for Pirelli Corse I akways run 5 psi more in the rear, that works for me but I don't know about other brands so much, but I would go with that as a starting point. See what the rear is doing and go 5psi leds in the front.

Darren I normally do what you suggest , seems to work well for me ,,,But S4 manual says 31 in rear which is way too low in my opinion I dont know what Ducati were thinking back then in 2001

That seems a little low, probablyva typo. Is that in the owners manual. I dont think I have one for the S4.

Here's interesting.
My M900ie owners manual gives the figures in Bar, kg/sq cm and lbs/sq cm. Converting those with with online calculators, I get; Front, 2.1bar = 30.4psi Rear, 2.2 bar = 31.9psi Front 2.3kg/sq cm = 32.7psi Rear 2.4kg/sq cm = 34.1psi Front lbs/sq cm = 32.7psi Rear lbs/sq cm = 34.1psi A previous owner has written 33/36 on the tyre pressure page, so has obviously come to his/her own conclusion. I've always used 32/36 and found it very sensitive to those pressures. Always take the tyre fitters advice though if they are prepared to give it.

I seem to recall reading 32/35 in the manuals for both my Ducatis. I always add a pound to any tyre pressures (more is more right?) so use 33/36 and not had any problems in doing so.

For what it's worth about 25 ish years ago I spoke to an engineer at Avon tyres who told me to put 40 psi in any rear tyre of a modern bike with radials.I had a newish Thundercat at that time.
