Throttle cables for Keihin carbs
Found out earlier this week that the previous Keihin cables I used on my FCR 39s on the 900ss are not only a bit short for the Monster bar set up I now have, but also now have a few kinks in from when they were in storage. As a result they no longer operate smoothly (unquote) and throttle sticks open.
I've tried ordering some original Keihin ones, but have been told that they're on back order and won't be available for at least 2 weeks. So, does anyone know of any alterntaive throttle and cable alternatives that would be long enough and fit the Keihin 39s ? P.S. The carbs aren't split (as per Desmo Duke's set up) so are still linked side by side. |

Venhill and cable tec will make you one to almost any length you might like.

I wanted to alter the cables on my Monster (split Keihins) as I wanted a 916 throttle tube for it's fast idle position also, because the throttle supplied with it was ridiculously short (and heavy) action.
I couldn't find anything off the shelf so took it to a local cable maker who combined the original 2 into 1 splitter with a new single cable (did away with the closer cables) to fit to the 916 throttle. In hindsight I'm sure I could have done it myself but it was a quick turnaround and not expensive so all good.
