Geoff (Buzzbomb)
I find it hard to believe that it was one year ago that Geoff passed away.
Probably still busy somewhere. |

I was thinking the very same but have been unable to post anything, with the loss of the Weekender it just makes it all the sadder.
One thing for sure, he will never be forgotten..

Thanks - I planned a post on the seventh, but didn't know if it was exactly a year. It's nice how live the memory of him is.

Yea, I wonder what he would have made of this carry on, everything cancelled? No personal connection, but I read the other day too that Tony Rutter had passed recently, didn't see anything posted on here though.

I am always thinking of him. Everytime including today as usual I wear my wedding gift of my Ducati coat overall that he got the guys at Ducati Manchester to make with my name on. I miss my conversations with him even if he is moaning at me which was often to be fair. He was an encourager for sure. Funny though he moaned and tried to discourage me from a Scrambler saying this and that inc too small. It didn't work and he also bought one. Now that makes me smile.
Miss you though you bugger.

Whenever I have a job to do on the bike, car or garden, I always think to myself - "would this pass the Welsby quality control test?"
I've just been fitting new front pads & discs to my daughter's Ford Ka. I imagined him looking over my shoulder & checking up on the workmanship (or lack of) involved on my part. I miss his marathon phone calls. |

.. Sad indeed, it was ,I believe the early hours of the 6th last year. How time has flown and how things have changed. I can only imagine Geoffs reaction to the current situation , I would have been getting an earful as I drove home ,including the overuse of the word "bugger"

His garden would be immaculate, and his bikes would be gleaming

He's always popping into my head usually when I'm on here or in the garage - its a mad day for me as its the day Geoff left us but also my wedding anniversary...
Albie - I was in Ducati Manchester just before the lockdown and Geoff's Scrambler was in there on display in all its modified glory. They were saying that they won't ever sell it. Story is they gave it to him after years of delivering bikes for them and refusing to get paid. Bab's gave it back to them after his passing. Some people are just so incredible |

If anyone offered me his bike i would have to refuse because it comes with a huge burden knowing that Geoff owned it. I couldnt be that guy. Jim has his 1100s with that pressure. I'm glad it went back to base.

Geoff maintained that if he wasn't getting paid, they couldn't sack him.
