Agree with that, brilliant place and loads of interesting places to see. Barely a vertical tower in sight, made you wonder how they'd managed not to fall over!
We were there earlier in the year and it was HOT, even the locals thought it was a bit much. We did our 'mad dogs and English men' impersonation a few times 42+ C in Florence was a bit warm even with frequent stops for espresso or beer followed by gellato.

The company was founded in 1933 as "Società anonima Gaetano Dell'Orto e figli" (Gaetano Dell'Orto and Sons) but actually only founded by Gaetano's sons, Luigi Piero and Giuseppe. http://www.dellorto.it/en/company-eng/history/
