Bar grips

Hi Guys,

Can anyone suggest some decent replacement bar grips, is there anything out there that would help with damping vibrations?

I rate progrip…grips…i replace the standard grips on all my bikes with them

Me too, but new ones carry the ‘Domino’ logo rather than ‘’Tommaselli’.
Tommaselli now produce a wide range of grips for touring and on and off road racing under the Domino brand name.

The original Monster diamond pattern is still used on the ‘Dakar’ grips.

The ‘Moto GP’ grips are dual compound and look good too if you avoid some of the more Lairy colour combo’s.

Same here, Pro Grip 719 on all my bikes, been using them for a long time now.

Have a look at Beston grips on the bay, they are slightly fuller and shaped to fill the hand,
used to be standard fit on British iron like Norton and BSA.
Standard Monster grips gave me ' white finger' after a few miles which is pretty miserable.

I was looking to change mine on the EVO. Anywhere in the UK do 719's. Most of the searches I've done come up with over the pond?

A trick on other bikes is to fill the handlebars with silicone. Not tried it yet myself but very popular on KTM Twins.

Be careful with the silicon!, quite some time ago a customer had used that recommended method only to find out that the small holes in the bars that the small pegs on the switches line up with had aloud the silicon to enter.
It took him forever to clean up the inside of the switch gear and he was alittle red faced about his exploits....

Isn't that what the bar end weights are for? Although I don't have any on mine but then I have solid bars; billet clip ons and don't get any vibation issues with those with the standard grips.

I was going to suggest the fat NVT grips that Stevie suggested, in a slightly jocular way!
I'm not sure they would look right on a Monster and not convinced that they did any good on my many big vibey Brit twins either.

I wouldn't bother filling the bars either. I filled one with lead once.. It didn't work!

As Darren points out, the modern answer is to tune out the vibes with bar end weights.

As for white finger, This is common and it may be that you suffer from Raynauds Syndrome?
I suffer from this without riding a bike, riding just brings it out! It's caused by temperature change and not so much from vibes.

My Doctor prescribed me Nifedipine and it works, as several Monster owners on here will tell you... Sometimes called the little red miracle pill... It's a game changer. No modification to the bike required.
Ask your GP.

I wouldn't fit anything made by NVT to a Ducati it will get the wrong idea and either break or stop working.

Ebay definitely has uk sellers for them. I’ve bought as recently as two months ago

I’ve noticed I get this on one finger on my right hand. Fingers goes completely numb if left too long.
Going to read a bit more about this I think.
