insurance companies
Was just wondering who you are insured with. looking to re insure the s4r again after over 4 years on being off the road.
Had a online quote from Ducati insurance of £286 is that a good price?

Seems a bit steep to me , the renewal on my s2r 1000 last year was about £120 but going on the mcn comparison site got that down to under £100 with the same company same insurance (Bennetts) but then i'm an old fart have you lost any no claims discount as you've had 4 years away from riding (did i read that right ?)

That's a timely ask: my renewal quotations have come through from Ducati Insurance this morning. Continuance of the existing policy is £281, and the alternative renewal with another of their companies is £211. That's the rustic Old Bloke rate for inComprehensible cover for both of my M900, and for the Elefant. Lots of small print to read now before deciding whether the £70 is worth saving?

I've just insured 6 bikes in January with BeMoto. I found them very helpful, straight and very competitive with various types of cover. Some laid up, some fully comp. I shopped around for 4 mind numbing days with various companies. £997 all in. I wanted to use Mackenzie Hodgson but they were £1300ish.
The guy I spoke to on the phone certainly knew about my bikes. Hope that helps a bit. |

Have been with SWINTON for years and just renewed for £130 - but there, I'm an old fart as well.
The thing I like about insurance companies is having someone that you can TALK TO who seems to know their job and are not intent on selling you life and fire and washing machine policies. |

Try moving to London. £627 with Bennetts on the evo, full no claims , old fart, no convictions, the whole lot. I even grew a beard (but probably just for the winter). Several alternative quotes around the £1k mark. I try not to think about it too much because I don't want the tears to come.

I used Bikesure Chris to cover the 900 and 1200R, £400 with agreed values and sensible excess level.
Ducati Insurance took the p*ss I thought, quoting me £660 with stupid high excess on both bikes

£313 with Footman James fully comp for 4 bikes; '97 748, '02 S4 Fogarty, '78 Lav Mirage and my 900 Trophy too. Lav and Foggy both agreed value 9-10k each, 748 at 5k and the Trophy an optomistic 2.2!
