DOC affiliation 2017
Hi all
I've now talked to or emailed everyone who was regisitered with the factory last year. (check your junk mail if you think you were missed out!) We're currently processing 2017 membership. Once again, this allows registered members to go on free factory tours, get discounts on DRE and events like WDW or EICMA, as well as participate in an special offers with Ducati UK. If I've recently emailed you and your details are unchanged or you;ve recently filled it in: THERE IS NO NEED TO FILL IT IN AGAIN (please feel free to PM or email me rob(at)ukmonster(dot)co(dot)uk if you're not sure) You are eligible if you are a forum user who owns a Monster and live in the UK,Republic of Ireland, Channel Isles, Isle of Man etc. or an ex-pat Monster owner. We will also register your husband/wife/partner/girl or boy friend (after all there's not much point in getting a discount MotoGP grandstand ticket if you can't sit with your pillion) If you fit the above description, please fill in and submit the form here https://goo.gl/forms/G0ZFi3S7LMoJKADi1 Please also check the details match your information in the UKMOC UserCP For partners, pillions etc. who don't have their own UKMOC logon: Under "UKMOC Forum Name" just put 'YourForumName'+1 but please make sure the email address is unique. Under "Monster model" just put pillion and the other bike details don't really matter. As ever, we won't share your details with anyone other than Ducati. We will also contact you when we receive any welcome kits, to arrange collection or payment for postage, ensuring membership remains free. Please note DOC is the Desmo Owners Club, run by the factory and not the DOCGB, which is a different factory affiliated UK Club. |

Well this Year's welcome kits have finally arrived (only 5 Months late!)
T-Shirt, Patch, Pin, Dog-tag and Card As soon as I've had a chance to sort through what's here I'll email everyone and arrange postage/collection, probably be this weekend before I get a chance but I don't think a couple more days will make much difference at this point. |

Well, its a pretty .. oh so pretty .. pretty .............. nasty design of t-shirt again this year.
This is not so much a grumble, more just an expression of disappointment. The 90th anniversary ones were fine but every other DOC shirt that I've ever received has been of poor design .... I would actually call them naff myself .... and I never wear them, so it all seems a bit of a waste. These are Italian shirts ... so why the total lack of design quality ? By contrast, the WDW shirts are usually much better. Its almost as if they don't want to prejudice the sales of their overpriced official merchandise by giving us a freebie that's wearable. It seems like an awful lot of wasted effort (and postage) and its a missed advertising opportunity too. And it leaves a slightly sour taste. Or is it just me ? Sorry, but it bugs me every year and this year it burst the dam. On the plus side, there have been a few very nice, useable trinkets over the years. Key fobs, rucksack bags, patches, etc. I'll leave it there. |

The badges and other trinkets are always very nice, but the t shirts are always so naff, I don't know why either but on the other hand I'm not complaining about it. But I agree with Jeff. The club shirts are always so much better.

I quite liked last years d1cky dirt, but I must admit I wouldn't be rushing to buy any of the others. This years is the least appealing so far.
I am still very happy to receive a little present from Ducati once a year though.

Just filled in the affiliation form again. Had Monsters for five or six years now and joined club some years ago. Never had a welcome pack. I think my details must be screwed in some way. Always on the lookout for a message from Slob, but the inbox is always bare, close to tears now as I see all the other kids with their bundles of presents and there I am in the cold, all alone and empty handed. No stickers and badges for one little chap. Boo hoo.

Yay. Ta Rob..
Not a bad shirt design after all, in the flesh. A bit thicker than previously I think? Nice and comfy, handles really well in the dry and I got a ton out of it this evening...

Thanks Rob for the pack of presents. Need to find my sewing kit to get the patch fixed to the bike, but the earring is in now after a bit of a struggle and the chain is great to keep the plug handy in my bathroom sink. Tim
