Hi,

Please let me know your thoughts on this bike...

Is it a lovely example, Shocking, Everyones worst nightmare, Perfect if you want all of the worst bits?

The twin lights might be an improvement after dark- to see by?
The nose fairing wouldn't be my first choice...
The seat mod? Definitely not!

I'm with Jez I'm afraid. Besides the exhausts none of those other mods really appeal to me either or enhance the look of the bike IMHO. I not even a big fan of tail chops but if the bike is standard underneath it's probably easy to put back to standard and sell the other bits on here.

Standard original Monsters are now becoming sought after now by the classic bike crowd with prices to reflect that, finally but they're a fussy bunch as I'm sure you know.

If you want top dollar put it back to standard and sell the other bits.

I've seen a lot worse tbh and that actually looks like a likely candidate to put back to standard fairly easily, if the frame hasn't been chopped about in order to fit the MV seat, the rest is just cosmetic.

Would need to take a closer look see as that black M900 with the nickel frame looked really nice until you saw the dogs dinner rear chop with extras. I know you can unchop them but nickel plating would have to be redone for that to be any good.

You don't say if you're looking to buy this bike, or selling it?

The fairing, lights and seat all appear to be in good condition, whether they look good together or apart is purely subjective and totally in the eyes of the beholder.
The seat unit appears to have damaged the side panel.

Beyond those parts is a fairly scruffy bike in need of some attention.
Wheels, Frame, footrest hangers and particularly the engine are all in need of re-finishing in some way, either with paint or polish... Monster exhaust pipes always benefit from a good polish up.
Most of the engine fasteners appear to be rusty and one wonders if the external corrosion has extended internally to things like the electrical connections, fuel tank and carburettors?

If you are buying prepare for some work and teething problems getting it on the road in a reliable form.
If you're selling prepare for a low price as a project, or some work tidying it up for a better price... As it is, I reckon it's worth less than a grand.

If you are thinking of buying it, then the mods that are not to everyone's taste could be a good way to get the price down. In that respect it would be a nice project as somebody will buy what you don't like on Ebay.

But beware.
Some bikes with a lot of bolt on type mods are owned by people who don't do the more mechanical maintenance requirements, either because they don't have the skills, or they have their priorities wrong.
With a low mileage Jap 4, that the owner might be more used to, it's easier to get away with than a Ducati.
