Bought a damaged 696

Hi Everybody

I am new to Monsters but not to Ducati, I currently have a 92 900SS & I have had 3 x ST2s in the past.

I have bought myself a 696 with heavy front end damage that I intend to repair as a project. It is a 2009 with the separate smaller front end frame & 3 spoke marchesini wheels. I will need to get most if not all of the front end parts.
I am sure that like other forums there will be a wealth of experience & advice on this forum but as a starter can anybody please tell me what other models & years have the same components.

Thanks

Hello and welcome
I'm not entirely sure about the answer but you can get all the parts books here
http://www.ducati.com/services/maintenance/index.do
which will allow you to compare part numbers between models/years
I suspect all 696 are the same and any 796/1100 would be an effective ugrade

I'd suspect that lots of the parts are shared with other models, or as stated upgrade parts can be fitted from other more expensive models in the Ducati line up.

Could be a good opportunity for something different / custom??

I would like to get it back to original if poss but if it is too expensive then I might consider a special. Perhaps a complete earlier monster front end? as I believe that the head angle is the same. I see that you are about to start a build, where are you getting your inspiration from?
