Old(er) biker, Monster envy
Hello all,
I've been lurking here for quite a while, soaking up the atmosphere and researching my next bike. As a quick bit of background, I'm 47, ex national level drag racer and have several Ducati ownership experiences under my belt, a 94 900SS, 96 Superlight, early 916, 1000SS DS and a 900SSie. I'm a reasonable mechanic and can tackle most things which has been handy with some of my Ducs! I'm currently jonesing for a M1200, maybe an S or maybe an 821. Still in 2 (or 3)minds Anyway have a great BH weekend y'all See ya |

Hello and welcome. That's a nice historic garage you have there! The new monsters seem to be winning people over now but many are recently opting for the 821 over the 1200 from what I can tell? I rode a 1200S and thought it was great but am yet to try an 821.
Try them all, make a day of it, and enjoy the decision you have to make |

Thanks!!
The 821 vs 1200 debate is interesting...a bit like the old 748 vs 916 debate of several years ago. I'm looking more at the 1200 at the moment as i ride 2 up about half the time and the extra grunt would be welcome. Going to try and test both though. I'll start a thread elsewhere as I have a fair few questions, and I'll post my observations after my test rides. thanks again for the welcome D |
