DI tried to treble my premium when I moved to London, so went elsewhere. Renewal just came through last week at £128 quid.

In total agreement with Gary.
I got my renewal in, and I wanted both the Guzzi 1000S and BSA A65 Lightning Clubman off the road, fire and theft only, as they are going through a bit of a refurbishment, and the M900 fully comp. It was a bit more than last year so I shopped about. I called Carole Nash ,and after a bit of trying to explain what a Ducati Monster is/was, as he couldn't find it on his list, they wanted £278 with a 3000 mileage limit and they said it would be a £35 admin fee for amending policy if I changed a detail during the year, oh!, and he said he could negotiate if I took it there and then, when I did it online with them later it was only £209!, needless to say no negotiations took place. I called Peter James, whom I was with 2 years ago but had to change as I bought a new F800R and they only cover certain modern bikes and that wasn't one of them, and spoke to a very nice lady, who took all my details and called me back within about 10mins. She said they don't do off the road cover as such but all 3 bikes would be covered fully comp, on the road, unlimited mileage with a £50 excess and breakdown cover, legal etc. ....£184.54, or the Monster alone for £117.22, I confirmed details and took it out for the 3 bikes, which means when I get one or both of the others finished,(eventually!!!), it can be put on the road without the hassle of rearranging insurance again and incurring any admin fee. They were very pleasant and easy to deal with and it may be worth trying them for a Monster as they cover certain modern bikes.

I had a quote from Peter James for my Monster 800 & a Lambretta TV200 - £215. A touch better than my renewal from Carol Nash at £223. Both with breakdown cover.

My Bennets insurance renewal was right up this year, I called them to see if they could reduce it and they didn't seem that interested, so I moved and almost halved it ...
