Refund after court case
I got my bike and started insurance in feb 2012.
crash happened in October 2012. Renewed insurance in feb 2013, premium went up, but was told that when the insurance claim was sorted I would get my first years NCB and they would refund the difference to me. May 2014, I win the court case for the crash. I have just called my old insurance company, Swinton and they said they will get the years NCB to me but I have to claim the refund off of the third party insurance company. Has anybody else been in a similar situation? Should Swinton be refunding me for my second year with them, based on me actually having 1 years NCB? This sounds like my old insurance company is profiting out of this. If I claim off the third party then Swinton still keep the difference. Does this make sense?

All sorted
I went to in to one of their branches and a lovely lady arranged it all for me They said they don't do refunds normally as I haev closed my account with them. Now with Ducati Insurance But as the case went on for a year and 7 months and I was not advised that I could claim a refund only if the account was open, they sorted it anyway. £480 refund. I could get some wet tyres...

Yeah they were trying it on. If the other company was liable your solicitor would have got the cash in court.
And saying you need to be a member to get a refund is also complete bull. Regardless of whether you were advised or not if they over charged they owe, simple. |
