What a fantastic day in Calne. This was my second visit to the bike day thanks to Liz & Stafford letting me stay with them again and it was great, Where else can you be sat in the sun surrounded by hundreds of bikes and then have a V10 8ltr bike rock up and park a few feet away.
Thanks again to Liz and Stafford for sorting the stand and feeding/ providing accom for me and Heather. |

Considering I almost didn't go, I'm really pleased I rocked up. What a great day/weekend - nice turn-out of Italian exotica. Cheers to Char for leading to Calne, to Liz & Stafford for the logistics & hospitality of making the weekend work, and to Bex for the company on the return - soz for state of your Monster following the weather breaking - glad you enjoyed the route.
It's great getting to know you Gals & Guys better, conversation and company was fun. Good also to put a couple new faces to names. Does anyone know if Gordon's arrived yet? It's the people who make it work! |

Good to catch up with folks again.
I love the diversity of bikes you see at the Calne bike day, from the excellent turnout of Monsters and assorted other Ducatis on the UKMOC stand (mostly, but not entirely, out of Stafford's shed), Brit iron classics (shiny Nortons and the chicken-pattern painted BSA Bantam), a disproportionate number of Guzzis including a rather lovely cafe racer, all shiny and silvery, to (at the other end of the taste spectrum) the turbo-charged Honda Super Four, a large collection of Scrapheap Challenge rat-trikes and that V-Max thing painted in a hideous shade of institutional pale green. Thanks to Scrapps for tipping us off about the scout hut cake stall and BBQ. Had to be said Altaian, a few people didn't recognise your bike without the mountain of luggage! |

Susan and I dropped in - not having kept up to date with UKMOC goings on, or this thread - and was floored to see my old Monster (now Scrapps' "The Shiney One"!) gleaming at me from accross the street.
Great to catch up -especially when it is unexpected. 1000s of Hardley Abelsons, so anything else was interesting! A Fab day Miles |

Looks like the band had some novel stage lights, in red, amber and green.

I have never seen a bigger selection of bikes in one place and its free.
If you ever get a chance to go its worth the effort. |
