Ron Parkinson
Hi All,
I'm thinking of replacing the 'udder' on my S2R 800 with a de-cat pipe and understand that the ECU will need adjusting in order to keep the mixture sweet. Has anyboy had a good experience of having this done by Ron Parkinson ? TIA, Ian |

true, ECU redo is optimal, but can actually have the fuel/air mixture tweaked up if you have a DP ECU - not sure if this is possible with standard ECU however so will have to defer...do you have non standard cans/airbox?

Apart from being born in Colchester (raised in Harwich) I cant comment on RP, but have you thought about looking for a local tuning firm as I'd imagine that 99% of folk can swap an exhaust over and they can set up the ECU at same time

If you have a later S2R's it'll have the Lambda/O2 sensor. You need to buy a decat pipe which accepts the sensor or the EFI won't run properly without it. Remapping ECU is often impossible with O2 sensor installed, as it keeps trying to self correct fuel/air mixture. You can get race ECU's which don't need a Lambda circuit, or bypass the sensor to fool ECU it's still there.

Thanks to all for replies.
Gary - so if I have the sensor (which I may do as its a 2008 bike) do I need the ECU manually adjusted or will the sensor do that automatically ? Cheers, Ian |

The O2 sensor will try to self correct mixture
May not run 100% right without setting up ECU

there is a few of use on here that has de cat with various cans, i have a full arows system on my s2r 1000 and took it to BSD PERFORMANCE, along with Funkatronic, they re flashed the ECU and now I have 94bhp at the rear wheel, and what a difference to the bike and what a great bunch of people. Highly recommended, and no I have no connection with this company apart from stevooo's recommendation on what to do when i was in your position.
