Metallic Rattle M1100S
Hi,
Has anybody got what is best described as a "metallic pinking" sound at around 5k rpm. Makes me think that something has come loose in the engine but told it might be just the standard exhaust system that runs very lean and produces the offending sound. No noise at lower revs but sounds bad enough for me to think a bearing has blown in the engine, gearbox or clutch. Engine does not feel down on power. Any thoughts? Cheers |

Ear plugs!
Check you haven't got a loose exhaust pipe as they can make funny sounds at certain revs if they come loose, clutch maybe? Does it go if under power, or get louder if idling down from higher revs? |

I thought the same about the ear plugs! I did leave them out but not heard this noise before.
I'll go for a run tomorrow and look out for whether it goes away under load think I backed off due to the sound. Cheers |
