Did you have trouble getting the gear lever on? Looks like a bit of the old screwdriver damage in the slot....

It was a tight fitting to get on/off and to adjust to get the right foot position. May get the Dremel polisher out to make the superficial edge perfectly smooth again, although grit from my boot will probably mark it some more with use as it is made from aluminium. Looking at it, it's about 0.1mm marking on the edge. Thanks for pointing it out though My bikes get ridden and maintained properly more than just polished, so am happy to accept she is not a garage queen.
