Just 100 miles to go before my new 1100evo has it's first service

Anyone got any tips for running in a new 1100evo..... black (it,s beautiful just keep polishing and looking at it in the garage..... My wife thinks I am mad she does't understand)

Weiil if you've only 100 miles left you've hopefully been doing what the book says for the last 500 miles.

After that you can build it up , rather than bouncing it off the limiter at 601 miles and it's first service.
There are a few 100 Evo's in the club now.

Don't run it in too gently. If the motor isn't worked the bores won't bed in properly and you could end up with high oil consumption. You should be able to feel when it's starting to loosen up.

Running it in too gently can be just as bad as running it in too hard... Make sure you load the engine occasionally, but keeping (relatively) within the rev limits...

Only one week to go before my new 1100 evo (in moody black) arrives... and I can't wait! :-) I'm sure I'll have a ball running it in... :-D

All run-in now (in 3 weeks)!

First service tomorrow, and then I'll be able to stop watching the rev counter! Hooray!

:-D No, I wouldn't do that... To be honest, I think it runs best at around 5½-6k rpm anyway, so I doubt I'll ride it any different...but watching the rev counter was getting tiring! :-D

1294 miles and counting...and that's in 8 weeks...

I love riding this thing...

It loves twisty roads and the engine is loosening up the more I ride it. I really seem to get the best out of it between 4½-6½k revs, so the narrow(er) power band doesn't concern me in the slightest.

The grunt from the motor is excellent! Perhaps not on par with my ZZR1400, but very very close, plus it is so much lighter...

Superb build quality, and it's easy to clean too... Hooray!

Sounds like you're having a blast. Isn't the peak power up at 8,000 rpm ?
I'd be in the 5,000-8,000 rpm band for my fun

Yes, peak power comes in at 7k, but peak torque comes in at 6k, so 5½-6½ is where I stay when 'spirited' riding is on the cards...
