So how & where does the oil cooler fit on the SS engine? I don't even have an oil cooler yet but I can see it fits onto the upper rocker cover on the Monster.

The cover is just on the bottom rocker cover instead!
I just like how it looks! http://www.ducati-upnorth.com/forum/...?do=view&g=722 Yorkie

another newbie
hi ,
i've had quite a few bikes in my time, but this is the only forum i've been inclined to join. there's something a little bit different about that monster of mine. my m900 (can't believe i nabbed that username) is also in pieces at the moment, although this isn't how i picked it up. much like an abused puppy i just need a bit of quality time with her. when i picked it up it would try to start on its own, even with the ignition off; the back tyre was as bald as phil mitchell; it had rim tape applied (seemingly in the dark) all over the body/tank; and the £17 of petrol i put in was all over my garage floor the next day. nothing too major, but enough to keep me busy. |

Project update...
Been busy, dismantling, cleaning and acquiring parts so I decided to do a test fit for the exhausts as I don't know quite how to fit them and if I'm going to modify the frame to fit them or even chop the tail (undecided ATM) I need to see how it all works and do it before painting.
With that in mind I temporarily put the engine in (still need to 'sort' it before use) so that I can see where cans fit, put a seat and tank on it so it was recognisable as a bike (Wife didn't believe it was a bike before!). Still waiting for some engineering work on the yokes but I have some (916) Showa forks and front wheel and I've got a rear wheel (although too narrow) to make up a rolling chassis but first paint the frame and fix the engine. A quick pic to show progress so far; I did intend it to be a Red bike with a black stripe down the middle of the tank and cowl and so was planning on painting it so, but when looking for a tank decided the main criteria was no dents or rust which led me to the Metallic silver tank (with sparkles!) which is in excellent condition and which has grown on me so I may leave it silver? at least for now, or even get another tank and have a dual personality. Got a couple of boxes of parts to sort through and still needing some 'bits' so I think I've got enough work for now but would like to have it on the road by spring/summer.

Well if you look carefully in the bottom left of the pic you can see the rear wheel but it's a 4.5" so I'm looking to get a bigger one (ooer mrs!).
