Hello Everyone
Thought i better show manners and introduce myself before i ask a couple of questions. I feel a bit of a cheek as i own one of the Monsters main competitors in the naked market a fabulous Green Triumph StreetTriple, plus a 22 year old Kawasaki 750 Turbo( hence turboKev).
But i have moved a bit away from the dark side and just purchased a 98 Monster 600 Dark for my 17 year old son who just passed his test, just got to get it MOTed, and get it painted from matt to gloss black with the addition of a yellow tank stripe to match the frame. Then the important bit to get the belts changed and fit the restrictor kit. Thanks for having a great site and look forward to getting some useful info. Kevin |

Welcome Turbokev. Sounds like a nice bike for a 17 year old lad. I had to make to do with an RD125LC all those years ago!

Thanks for the welcome, i hope i have got him a fairley sensible first big bike. in restricted form its not to fast, but retains a tractable bottom end. We nearly got a new GS 500F the other week from a dealer going down the pan, it was only £2300 on the road, but i thought that one low speed drop and bang goes £500 worth of panels, and we all drop them( hence scratchs on the Triumph, and i am old enough to know better)
Ricky- No mate the Kwaks much more bad tempered than the older 750 triple, 750 Aircooled DOHC with 2 valve head, IHI Turbocharger and fuel injection( on a bike launched in 1983) crap brakes and chassis but 130hp at the back wheel which is not bad by todays standard, and capable of well over 200hp with 2/3k spending on it. A good straight line bike. Kevin |

Welcome both and there's nothing wrong with the triple - we have a black one and it makes me smile a lot!
Meanwhile enjoy that M600 son of turbokev and you best look at the multistrada turbo as owned by our very own dear Fatbloke! Ride safe and happy, benson |
