Repainted engine casing before and after
After some long hours rubbing away at stubborn paint, much swearing and curses that I'll never do this again the results have been totally worth it.
Took a lot of what previous threads advised on how to do this - paint stripper as far as I could go - sanded the rest off going doen in grains - de greased - masked up the whole and I mean the whole bike, I literally had a newspaper monster - primer 2 coats - paint 3 light coats building up slowly - lacquer 2 coats - left to dry 24 hours I was hampered by the weather, I dont have a garage so had to pic my days carefully and it was a battle against time as the rain closed in. If I was to do it again, which I may do next winter. I would take longer prepping the bike, Not too hapy with some of the work but overall 8/10 |
