4 months to a Monster
Hi all im Andy from Surrey (south of England) current bike is a 1998 GPZ 1100 which has become my Monday to Friday commuter bike which gets used in all weathers and is now really dirty all the time.Even when washed,a couple of days later it looks like crap again.
The problem is that i like my bikes to be really clean all the time. I also love modding my bikes.I used to have a Kawasaki ZRX 1100 which i did plenty on including polishing the rear swingarm and wheel rims,Dyno jet stage 3 with K&N pods,as well as the usual stuff like renthal bars, different mirrors, tail tidy's.............But sadly i had to sell it. In 4 months time i'm getting a wage increase and my missus has said i can get a new bike,a toy to use on sunny sundays while keeping the GPZ for work. So i've spent the last month wittling down from a list of 20 bikes i want,to one.I really like the beefy retro bikes like the ZRX i had,but they are always really heavy and i wanted something lighter i could have fun on and not sweat buckets trying not to drop it while doing slow manouvers. So what did the bike have to have. It had to be not too exspensive as it will be on finance and cant push my luck with the missus by spending too much. Has to have a low seat height as i'm 5ft 8 and short in the legs. Obviously had to be a nice looking bike (in my eyes anyway) Had to be naked, not into race bikes although the Ducati 1098 looks beautiful. Has to have enough power. While at P&H Motorcycles in Crawley i came across the Ducati 696+ Monster. Wow. Never really been into the Monsters but since seeing this one its like i suddenly get what there about. So pending a road test i should be buying one in just under 4 months. Thanks for reading my long winded intro. Cheers all. Andy |

Welcome to the club Andy.
I bought my S4R from there and found the guys pretty good. Are they still offering Zero % interest? It made mine very affordable in the end.

Just buy a Monster you know it's the right move.
BTW Surrey is not south of England, that'll be France.

You could also try the Monster 1100 to try and get a comparrison.
If you wants lots of power though you'll need to look at the water cooled S4R models
