all 900s have six gears, not sure what's involved in an engine swap but on year-for-year should be a straight bolt off/on jobby (obviously you'll need all ancillaries off the 900) apart for rear tyre size, double disc and maybe a different clutch hose but I'm sure someone more clued up will be along in a minute
