Looking on the bright side here, it seems that the bungs took a lot of the damage!!
I don’t have them at the moment, but I’m seriously considering fitting some now. I can only imagine the repair bill if the bike took the full force! Good luck with the insurance pay out. |

I sort of feel guilty as it wouldn't have happened if you hadn't been selling me your old bike. Let's hope the insurance pays out.

For the legal advice use your insurance company, they will have a team of solicitors who will specialise in negligent claims and pursue your claim with vigure. Personally I was ruthless with my recent claim, anything and everything got replaced incl helmet, clothes, IPOD, bag and pretty much anything on the bike that had a slight scuff etc. I also had no claims protection so my NCB was unaffected. I would be claiming for injuries as well. Get reports from A and E and make a note of any costs incurred and any subsequent pain that will be incl in your claim. Remember you'll be paying insurance for the rest of your life this is what its there for. My recent experience kept my S2R off the road for 8 weeks and left me to the joys of a Bandit 1200, which I dropped on day one - heavy! and cost me a further £200 - gr8!!!!

Hi Jimmy
thanks for that, im using Rider Support Services as recommended by slob. They too have told me to detail everything in my claim inc injuries. My insurance co dont seem to care as im only TPFT. I am still waiting for the tossers at the other parties insurance to come and inspect the bike before i can get it back on the road. Now i'm on the mend im getting serious withdrawal symptoms :-( cheers for your advice ali |

my off was Sept 18th, got my bike back 8 weeks later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! word to the wise keep on your insurance company and on the garage doing the work. If it wasnt for my constant phone calls it prob would've taken 3 months to get my bike back.
My injury claim hasn't even started yet, seeing a doctor in 3 weeks which will be 3 months since the accidient. I now know why premiums are high, the claims are so slow that the costs incurred by the insurance companies, like providing a hire bike, are masssive. I worked it out that the cost of the hire bike outstripped the actual cost of repair of my Monster, how rediculous is that! I would also change to fully comp matey, as a biker your more vulnerable and so is your precious baby and as a new rider like myself even more reason to be insured up to the eye balls - dont make my mistake, I wrote off 4 grands worth of Buell before getting on my S2R, to be fair the Buell was not the most sensible choice as a first bike !!! live and learn |
