New M620ie Capirex owner.

Hi

Passed my test at the end of July and after a month of Autotrader hunting found a mint 2005 Capirex with 7k on the clock, picked it up yesterday and all I can say is wow!!

I really can’t get my head around how people can handle a bike with 3+ times the power!? I’m sure I’ll get used to it, but 7k revs in 3rd gear is awesome!

Before I bought it I had a set of low rise (prefer them to high rise) Termis put on, the sound is fantastic especially when easing off the throttle. My wife said she could hear me coming before I pulled up to the house last night.

Anyway, just a quick hello, I’m sure I’ll become a regular on the site as I do with my car.

Only plans for the bike at the moment is to take the ‘65’ stickers off, I’m sure they’re like Marmite and some people will like them but I personally think it’ll look better without them and I can always buy some news ones for £8.

Absolutely super little bike , You will really enjoy it !
Last year I had an M620 Capirex and a Fireblade in the garage .Unless i was riding with other blades/R1's/GSXR's etc I took out the Monster every time . A lot more fun , sounds brilliant , and you dont have to do 100+ everywhere to have a good time !

if you take the 65's off then what was the point buying a capirex?

Helllo and welcome..

I thought the capirex had a couple of other mods like higher pegs and lower seat for the shorter rider, plus a couple of white flashes around the bike.

Like he said, you can get some more if it doesn't look right. You could go the whole hog and get some Rizla decals too

Welcome to the UKMOC! You'll never leave...

I'm afraid you're gonna have to post some pics and start a poll on the numbers on/off issue. I'd vote on, it's part of the whole bike.
Anyway welcome!

Another vote for sanity, welcome to fold

LOL How do they handle the power?? Well a high proportion of them a totally reliant on the bike itself to handle it for them, when it all starts to go wrong they suddenly find they are overwhelmed, running way too hot into a corner and SPLAT. There was a lovely R1 shaped dent in a garage door on a set of twistes just up the road from me, most gratifying to see too. It takes very little skill to make a race rep go fast, hustling a monster along is slightly different as you make the bike work.
My dogs are at the gate waiting for me when I get in, probably hear me cresting a hill about a mile and a bit away

Ahhh another Little Bike Sydrome sufferer...

I'm so glad to see that another riders' misfortune gave you gratification Not the sort of message you should be sending to a new rider.

On the basis of what you are suggesting about Monster riding being more work, I should be more than qualified to wrestle my R1 around the twisties having "cut my teeth" on one before jumping onto a litre bike. There has been plenty of Monster riders which have run too hot into a corner; I should know, I used to ride one. At the speeds at which a litre bike (whatever the make or wherever it is made) is designed to operate it requires a great deal of skill; I should know, I ride one.

Safe riding, Nick

Well I had a really good ride on it Saturday for a few hours and am chuffed to bits with it.

Thanks for your warm welcome, I have a few quick questions to ask already so will post them in the relevant sections.

I took the 65’s off in the end, partly because the front one had a small scuff on, I personally think it looks 10 times better and as mentioned I can order some news ones if need be (I got the dealer to price some up before I took them off, as mentioned they’re around £8).

The 65’s are not the only things that make it a Capirex, they come with a white painted stripe down the middle of the bike, the red is more orangey, apparently it’s the GP bike red!? Also the ride height is different and it has a carbon front mudguard and a few little carbon bits here and there. So hopefully I haven’t changed it too much by only taking the 65 stickers off!!. It has a 6-speed gearbox and twin front discs, not sure if they all did but the Darks that I was also looking at didn’t which kinda pushed me towards the Capirex.

(I'll get some pictures up soon!!)

Yes, that’s what I was told by the dealer.

I’m going to give it a proper clean sometime in the next few days, may be the weekend and will take some pictures then.
