I was commuting on M750 2001 Carb in all weather for 8 months. Not even 1 time did it let me down. Stick to maintenance schedule and all is ok. Air culled monsters are bullet proof. A tip during winter use 40/10 oil and during summer 50/15. Worms up faster during winter, takes longer to warm up during summer. I was changing my oil every 3k (on my own). Clutch is ok on wet monsters add termis and they will hear you coming which is important. Yes do pay attention to minicab morons and in city centre taxi doing u-turns. I was doing 10 miles one way but via city centre, no motorway and it was ok. Do not even have an optimate as battery kept being charged and mind you I did have heated grips and GPS/MP3 player mount.

I hope so because I just bought one for the summer part of my year round bike commute into London - I've been doing it every day for 10 years. If you can do some maintenance you should not have a problem sticking to your budget.
I can't wait for the early morning sun rises and late summer evenings...... Good luck! |

I still find it freaky doing 60 past two lanes of stationary traffic - keep thinking some plank is going to pull out.
