Sussex - Who do you trust

Hi Guys & Girls

Just had the bike serviced with Alf's motorcycles in Worthing, and picking it up tomorrow, but a bit p**s off over the time it took.
The bike was running rough (all choked up at low rev's/speed, running rich), so booked in for a service and for them to solve the problem. Ok so far.
Drop the bike of on Saturday for service Wednesday and pick up following Saturday. Basically guy left it till Friday to look at the bike and start investigating the problem, by which time any support from K&N etc. He was very apologetic, but that did n't get my bike back any earlier.
Then advised he was going holiday for a couple of days. Anyway job done now (2wks later) and cost was reasonable (?) £300 for Investigate problem, minor service, new front sprocket, MOT & fivers worth of petrol.
Find out tomorrow if it was worth the wait. :burnout:

But back to the point of the thread, what other dealers/specialists do you trust in the Littlehampton/Worthing/Brighton area?

Good News

Well spent most of today on the bike, and would say very pleased with it. I think its the best its ever run.
But would still like to know if there's another good dealer in the area (preferably non franchised to keep the costs down).

a bit steep, but diy vs their margins

sounds like a fuel thing, a dyno tweak would be 120 plus an mot plus say a 15 quid for a sprocket? you get a cool chart too.
alex.
ps. I am tighter than most trorque wrenches manage.

Pro Twins in Godstone:

Pro Twins Ltd
Unit J17 Lambs Business Park, Tilburstow Hill, Godstone, Surrey, RH9 8LJ
Tel: +44 (0)1342 892888 Fax: +44 (0)1342 893996

Very professional, not the cheapest but know a hell of alot and are so good to deal with (jumps for joy not to have to go to P & H ever again), the owner spent well over an hour just chatting to me about how we could mod my bikes to give more height as he's done to his, he even told me a couple ofideas that wouldn't cost me a penny.

All in all I came away thinking wow, what a fantastic place.

Yep! Can't argue with the above. Every one of the services to my M900, was done by Pro Twins. They are Ducati enthusiasts as well as experts.
Every time I came away from there, my bike felt like it was brand new. As has been mentioned, not the cheapest, but what price do you want to pay for piece of mind and a VERY professional service. I cannot rate then too highly. They are bloody brilliant.

I have used Alf's on a number of occasions including 12000 mile service. I can't fault the guy and he always seems to do a lot if little extras at no more cost. His enthusiasm for Dukes leaves you in no doubt that you are leaving your bike with a like-minded individual you can trust. Dunno why he kept you waiting so long, but the longest he kept mine for was over night and they lent me a bike to get home on. May be that you were a victim of his "I am the only guy here who does Ducati's" policy, which could be a pain if he is busy. That said my new S2R is still under warranty and I will be using P&H at Crawley, until it runs out. I have had some fuel mixture adjustments made to my ECU by them once and was happy with the service (alf does not have equipment for things like ECU's). Be warned tho, it is a big glossy fairground of a bike shop and you will likely spend more than you went in for!
