M900 Rectifier
Hi,
Just fitted a new rectifier to my 1994 M900 and have a question regarding the two yellow cables. The loom has 2 yellow connectors and so does my rectifier. Does it matter which yellow cable plugs into the other yellow one? Hope this makes sense Regards, Mark |

As above, AC voltage on the input so doesn't matter - same applies to 3-phase alternators which have 3 yellow wires.
The output from the rectifier is important though as that is DC volts...

I would replace the connectors on the alternator side or hard wire them. Poor connection is one of the main failure modes. Get the best quality connectors you can.

Two yellow wires means its a single phase alternator..doesn't matter which way round you connect them. Just make sure the connections are clean, tight and secure..

Yea, thanks. its ok I think we got that covered. Its a 2 wire-single phase alt. But the point I was trying to make was that the wires are marginal to cope with the current as standard, they are too thin and poor quality so the connections need to be really good but even then the wires can burn out/melt and cause rec failure. Just saying 'cos I had so many problems with my 748 which is the same. The alternator wire is crap. fit better/thicker wire that can cope with the current or it will fail again.
