Ever since I got he bike 10 years ago I was never happy with the wiring on the right side, it worked fine but jjust didn't look tidy. There were at least 3 superseal connectors all bundled together under one strap and at least one other hidden but that looked like a repair.



Anyway, after having to replace the neutral sensor wiring recently due to a bad connector which was causing random engine mgmt warning/ecu issues and not starting issues, which I appear to have now fixed. Having done the repair I was reminded of what a birds nest the wiring was on that side and decided that it needed sorting or at least tidying up. I wasn't sure how much was possible seeing as the front part of the loom has been reversed (perhaps in order to fix the common problem of broken wires around the headstock that seems to ail these bikes?.)

Anyway, I was reminded from the neutral sensor repair that usefully, the workshop manual has several illustrated pictures of the correct wiring positioning. So armed with some new rubber straps and a copy of the manual I set about the job.

After about and hour and a bit later of disconnecting, untangling and reconnecting stuff, cursing and jiggling stuff about, some progress was made:-

I think it was worthwhile as it looks much neater now and although there are more rubber straps on the frame, I don't mind that so much as they are not that obvious with a black frame and I will at some point turn them over so the connecting bits are hidden anyway.

I'm just paying the price and suffering with my back atm after spending so much time doing it.
