A few 796 mods
So I've had the monster 796 a couple of months so far and am really enjoying it . There were a few little jobs that I wanted to do to it to make it mine .
I fitted a R&G tail tidy which really smartens up the rear end . It was a real pain in the arse to do !. The bike came with termis fitted but no baffles so I ordered a pair of legal look 3 baffles from desmoworld . Beautifully made and they take the edge off the noise . I got some lamba sensor eliminators from ebay to smooth out the low speed running and they seem to have made a small difference . Also raised the bars a tad with a cnc racing 20mm bar riser, simple enough job to do and made a real difference . Fitted some bar end mirrors and flipped over the original mirror clamps . The seat cowl was held on with horrod huge allen bolts so ordered a pair of original replacements from Ducati . Great service and they arrived in 3 days . The downside is they are £26!!!. I'm riding from Kent to Scotland next month for a weeks riding with mates so when a Ducati performance comfort seat came up I had to grab it . It does feel plusher and is slightly higher (I'm a shortie). The bike came on the original five year old pointy pirelli front tyre and a maxxis square touring tyre on the back! . I fitted this week a pair of Pirelli angel st's as I've had a few pairs of these and are a decent tyre . Only done 30 miles on the new tyres and the bike feels so different now . It actual wants to lean over and corner! I've done about 800 miles so far and plan on putting on a few thousand more this year!. Thanks Colin Last edited by Doggy; 04-02-2018 at 12:15 PM.. |
