Insuring two bikes with two different companies ?

So I am currently looking to ensure both my bikes, a 2010 Honda CB1300S and a 2009 M1100. I have had multi bike policies in the past but they do seem to be expensive compared to the single cost of each bike done separately.
Does anyone ensure their bikes separately using different companies for each bike and if so how do you deal with the no claims ?
Theoretically you can only use your no claims on one policy I believe ?
Do you list the extras and mods or ensure as a standard machine ?
