Calne Bike Day 2012 28th July

Just a reminder that on the 28th once again for the 12th year Calne will be awash with bikes!
UKMOC will have a stand there so why not A: pray for good weather B: come along and show off your bike and have a look around town at all the other stands and stuff to see.

Details from the website:
http://calnebikes.freehostia.com/
Follow A4 to Calne Town Centre, Wiltshire, SN11 0EN, between Marlborough and Chippenham.

This year we will be awarding ‘Most Appealing’ trophies in three categories:

- vintage bikes

- classic bikes

- contemporary bikes

so that all bikes will be covered.

It will be very informal and judged by a walk around the bikes present when judged. The trophies will be presented early afternoon.

Ride-Ins and Ride-Outs

Helmet Bar

Trade Stalls

Bands and Entertainment all day

Food and Refreshments

…And for the ‘icing on the cake’ and by kind invitation of the Marquis of Lansdowne, the finale of the day will again be a Ride-Out in style to Bowood House (www.bowood.org) for music and refreshments – several hundred bikes, photo opportunity, live music and hot food (please note that there will be no toilet facilities so please use town facilities before the Ride-Out!).

A great day out for all and get the vibes here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6KeLtR47pQ (copy and paste into your browser) - courtesy of our friends in the Lions!

The event has been increasing in attendance in recent years and town centre space is getting squeezed so…..

A plea to all coming – if you park on pavements PLEASE leave enough room for a pushchair/wheelchair to get past WITHOUT having to go into the road. We have very understanding local police but things must not be dangerous for spectators and visitors. In this context note also that traffic restrictions and parking bays continue to operate as per the displayed notices.
